TODAY IS THE DAY
TODAY IS THE DAY
– To the memory of Mrs. Rose
Today is the day,
the day of all days,
the day I salute you,
the day I shall reflect
on all the things
you accomplished
throughout years
spent on this Earth,
and years spent
showing your love
to people all over,
giving back what
the public owed.
That was you,
and this is how
I will always remember
the one person
who touched us all,
as I sit in the same
front row seat
as I did ages ago,
watching you belt
one tune after another
for the whole world
to listen to –
or so it seems.
The woman on stage then
is back for an encore,
as today is the day
we remember you
as the greatest act
that ever hit the floor.
Today is the day.
