MOTHER AND DAUGHTER
Just some links to accompany this haiku, which was written for two wonderful entertainers. One, of course, is known as the little girl from The Wizard of Oz singing Over The Rainbow. And the other who might just as well be remembered, in my opinion, for picking up where the other left off. Their names are Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli. Oh, didn’t I mention they were mother and daughter?

JUDY GARLAND MONTAGE HAIKU
A montage poem (or in this case, a haiku) is a poem in which song titles from one musical artist (or a band of artists) are used. This is not a form of plagerism, only something created from another’s imagination — just with a series of words (like, in this case, song titles) in which to use to write a poem. In other words, this could be described as a “found poem”.
This haiku here consists of three song titles from Judy Garland, which all appear in the Classic American Voices CD. When composing a haiku with song titles, you can include three or more song titles within the seventeen (5-7-5) syllables allowed. An exception to the rule is also the inclusion of original album titles. The use of words in between song titles are also allowed, so long as the haiku is within syllable count.
“Embraceable You“,
“You Got Me Where You Want Me” –
“Over The Rainbow“.
