I wrote this poem entitled Locker Room Desire. It was inspired by a photograph I found on the web of a shirtless Zac Efron (http://www.zac-efron.info/shirtlessZacEfron-big.jpg). And I was just taken by the photo.
I used to go to a poetry reading called A Love Supreme in Plano, Texas. There, during one such monthly gathering at the Plano ArtsCentre, one of the women who read (I forgot her name) was discussing her poetry, and she said that she wrote poems inspired by photography. I had been experimenting with that since last year, and had one of my poems A Crush, inspired by a photograph of James Dean, published online. So I decided to try it again, this time with Zac.
Please don’t be jealous, Vanessa!

LOCKER ROOM DESIRE
A young man walked into the locker room one day
following a long afternoon at the gym.
His hair had been soaked all over,
and moisture was dripping furiously
down the rocks of his magnificent torso.
The walls of this private, sacred room
had been consumed by the scent of his musty odor.
I began to daydream the two of us,
alone, inside the thick steam of a warm shower,
picking up what perspiration would come about.
I imagined tasting the ripe, delicious fruits
everywhere I could find around
the soul of an exuberant athlete,
passed out, exhausted, resting in my arms.
Only if the young man knew that I wanted him.

For a closing footnote, it is my intention to perform this poem at the McKinney Poetry Slam during the McKinney Art & Jazz Festival on Sunday, June 8, during the hour of 3:00 PM.

I can see how Zac can inspire poetry to be written - he is gorgeous and seems to have a beautiful personality. However, that is NOT Zac in that picture.
Opinions tolerated.
That’s sweet! I love Zac, So cute.
