WHY HILLARY CLINTON WILL NOT DROP OUT OF THE RACE

Simple. Hillary is a fighter. She will fight till the end. Barack Obama will not acquire enough delegates come August, when the nominee will most likely be decided in Denver. One mistake on the part of Obama could make or break a campaign, as one mistake could to Hillary. So it is very important that these two candidates fight it out till the convention. And if you say it’s going to help John McCain, it’ll only increase his chances of slipping up, which can very well cost the Arizona senator the White House.

Hillary Clinton will be called so many things if she quits in the middle of what might be a successful bid for the presidency. It will set women politicians back 20 years. Do you think her quitting is what we need?

Campaign stratigists are nothing but quirks. You can hear what comes out of someone on television, like James Carville or Rachel Maddow, but in the end, it is you that makes the decision of who runs the country. Not them. So, the decision is yours. Vote for who you think is the best person for the White House.

MESSAGE TO HISPANIC GLBT PEOPLE AND SUPPORTERS

Do not watch Jose Luis sin Censura.

This Spanish television version of the Jerry Springer Show “promotes verbal abuse and physical violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people,” according to the Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).

The real name of the host who runs this filth is Jose Luis Gonzalez, and he has a history of allowing audience members to use homophobic slurs out loud on live Spanish television to guests on the show. It honestly makes me wonder why the FCC hasn’t got involved the way it has with Howard Stern (who bashed the Fred Phelps and Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas live for its unruliness at the memorial service of slain college student Matthew Spepard). Not only has Jose Luis allowed the audience to use bad words, he’s even gaybashed guests on the show himself.

Jose Luis sin Censura is just as violent as the Springer show, too. On one occasion, an audience member was allowed to beat and drag a gay man around the stage after the gay man confessed his love to another man.

This, of course, only hits the top of the iceberg. I don’t find many shows out there that promote homophobia. But this show does just that. And the plug needs to be pulled before something terrible happens.

MEHDI KAZEMI IS NOT THE ONLY GLBT FACING DEATH

You have to consider all the GLBT Iranians who have fled their homeland only to face deportation.

One such case is a 40-year old lesbian named Pegah Emambakhsh, who, like 19-year old gay student Mehdi Kazemi, also faces the death penalty if she return to Iran. There are many like these two. And sadly, some of them have been deported, where it’d only be predictable what happened thereafter, as the crime for homosexuality in Iran is death.

In Pegah’s case, she, like Mehdi, is staying in Britain at this time, awaiting deportation. Recently her appeal for asylum was rebuffed by the Court of Appeals, so now Pegah is now taking her case to the High Court, which may have the final say in whether or not she will live or die.

As for Mehdi, he was given a brief stay of deportation, as his case is being reviewed.

Whatever the decisions are on both publicized cases, one thing is for sure: The people in charge of making the ultimate descisions in the cases of both Mehdi and Pegah, as well as in other cases, must take a good long look at themselves in the mirrow before deciding whether or not to have these innocent people shipped back to Iran to be welcomed with a noose put on their necks. Because they are just as human as we are, I don’t care what your sexual orientation is, and we need to respect that.

GAY TEENAGER TO FACE DEATH IN IRAN

It is unfortunate I find that in a number of countries strict laws are made to forbid a certain kind love that is in fact normal and nothing to be ashamed of. And in those countries such laws unfortunately have to apply to teenagers with a whole life ahead of them.

I must say that as a bisexual American, I’m thankful to be where I’m from, and to be who I am. But the same cannot be said for Medhi Kazemi, a 19-year old Iranian who fled from his country following the execution of his boyfriend. Earlier this month, Medhi, seeking refuge in the United Kingdom, was ordered by the court of law to return to his home land, where he facing the death penalty for the crime of sodomy.

Iran is not located far from Iraq, where, according to article read in the 2008 Winter edition of XY magazine, a 14-year old boy was brutally murdered in 2006 for prostituting himself to help out his poverty-stricken family. This case was one of over 400 killings (a least estimate) of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered people.

I cannot fathom, as a human being, why countries like the UK, which are the birth home to many GLBT celebrities (take Elton John and Freddie Mercury, for example), have to cast off a young boy facing persecution in his native land, knowing full well that Mehdi returns to his homeland, he will be killed at any second.

This young man has really done nothing wrong. It is his misfortune to be living in a land that does not want to understand what his feeling are. People have feelings, and it is a must that people listen and think of the differences other people have, and not act upon it with direct violence.

It is not that Mehdi’s life is a tragedy. It is that the world he is living in is a tragedy, one that will take years, if ever, to fully understand what GLBT people have to go though.

BOYS, IT’S OKAY TO HAVE GUY CRUSHES

The notion that male-male lust for one another may sound scary to some people, and the same may be true for male-male unrequited love. But the truth is it’s okay to have feelings for other people regardless of gender. To act out on it, to explain your love to the other person is a choice you have to make. If can be for the better. It can be for the worse. All that really depends on the reaction the other person may have regarding the situation.

Obviously, there are consequences when a negative reaction occurs. Unfortunately, we’ve seen that in the deaths of Scott Amadure, Matthew Shepard, and most recently, Lawrence King (all of whom were killed after expressing same-sex attraction to their would-be killers).

Therefore some of us, myself included, would rather keep a distance from those we have a crush on out of fear that something would happen. On the other hand if it was a girl crush some of us would be happy to let the girl know that “I like you!”

But there is nothing wrong with having same-sex crushes, nonetheless. You just have to figure out their sexual orientation to know whether or not to come forward. Whereas if he has a girlfriend it’s best to keep distance. If gay or bi and single it shouldn’t be an issue. However we must note that Matthew Shepard’s killers did pass off as gay people to lend Shepard a ride before torturing and killing the college student. But they don’t come often, so it shouldn’t be much of an issue, though it does happen.

Whether or not you would like to tell the choice is yours. No one has to decide for you. And if the person you like rejects you, then, well, it’s their problem. People need to learn how to forgive. Right?

IF HILLARY WINS THE NOMINATION…

I talked with a friend today. And this is what he told me. If Hillary Rodham Clinton wins the Democratic nomination black people will not vote in the general election in November, thus giving John McCain the top seat in the White House. In fact, if Hillary were to win the nomination, my friend says, riots will erupt in numerous places throughout America.

This, of course, comes after comments were made by the controversial pastor Jeremiah Wright, who has close ties to Barack Obama.

Now I could be listening from an extreme liberal. I will not mention my friend’s name over of fears that this person might not want me in sight any longer.

But think about this. Barack Obama is in serious trouble. He may hold a good lead in delegate count at the time of this posting, but Obama will not walk away with the nomination. Rev. Wright has stirred up too much controversy for the American people to handle.

It will be a match-up between Hillary Clinton and John McCain.

Let’s face it. The Democratic National Committee is going to have to let in the delegates from Florida and Michigan for the convention. And since Obama is not supporting primaries for both states, those delegates will favor Clinton. And because Florida and Michigan are big states, they will pave the way for a Clinton nomination, giving the American people a woman for a presidential candidate. And hopefully a woman in the White House if my friend just happens to be skewed with the facts.

Go Hillary!

JAMES DEAN IN THE BUFF

I have always been curious to know what James Dean looked like. I guess that’s just me, killing the kitty. A lot of people of like that, and I’m no execption.

Anyway, when I came across this celebrity website last year, and viewed some pics of Jimmy, I had finally squashed the cat. No it wasn’t the photo of the Hollywood icon in a tree. In fact, he was in bed. And yes, it is real, which comes to show that Jimmy may be gone, but he’ll never be forgotten.

And I just thought I’d show you the link. Here it is.

JUDY SHEPARD WAS RIGHT

People need to understand that whatever your sexual orientation is — it is not a sickness.

And that applies to Rep. Sally Kern of Oklahoma. She needs to learn — and she’s had 61 years to do so — that people are sensitive to homophobic bashing. It is not right to compare GLBT people to terrorism, and what Ms. Shepard said in a recent letter (which can be read on this blog http://queeristan.wordpress.com/2008/03/24/judy-shepard-has-a-message-for-sally-kern) that people need to understand compassion to GLBT citizens.

Judy, of course, lost a son ten years ago in a much-publicized hate crime in Laramie, Wyoming. The hate that the two men convicted in Matthew’s slaying had continues to be carried out by other people, whether it’s by violence or simply by the use of a homophobic slur.

But one thing is certain. THIS NEEDS TO STOP!

And as far as the next politicians to be elected is concerned, one should hope that each carry with them a sensitive side when it comes to hatred to all groups of people. Race, religion, gender, disability, and, of course, sexual orientation.

LETTER TO SALLY KERN, OKLAHOMA STATE LEGISLATOR

I just want to let you know that I am a bisexual, and I want you to know that there are people in the GLBT community who do not pose a threat to anyone. So how could anyone say that we GLBT members pose a greater threat than the terrorists who train little boys, rob their innocence, to maim, torture, and kill enemy soldiers trying to help them, who by the way, come from the very country where you are granted the right to hurt our feelings by the words you use.

I can care less whether or not I am talking to a woman right now. I am talking to a monster, a monster with no compassion for certain people of certain social groups. You ought to be ashamed for this, Ms. Kern. You lying monster.

I’ve read Breaking the Surface, the autobiography written by Greg Louganis. In it, he talks of a brief relationship with a pedophile as a teenager, only to mention that most child predators are heterosexual family members. In other words, GLBT people are not as likely to prey on little kids like straight perverted adults do. So you’re wrong. And on many other fronts as well.

I think you need to do yourself a little favor and step down from your position as state legislator, and owe us GLBT brothers and sisters and sincere apology.

But since you’re a Bush Republican who can care less about a Matthew Shepard, a Barry Winchell, or most recently a Lawrence King, we can all expect nothing from you. After all, you’re a homophobic monster, and you always will be.

A TENNIS TEAM TO PLAY IN A PARKING LOT?

This is an all-timer. Take it as fiction all you want, but this, my friend, is real and exciting.

The Philadelphia Freedoms tennis team will play their season this year in the parking lot of the King of Prussia Mall in the city of Brotherly Love.

This makes me want to laugh. Seriously. I mean, how can you replace the white lines of a parking facility for the many different colors of a tennis court which was the brainchild of Billie Jean King, who by the way, co-owns the Philadelphia squad, and who supports this venture?

This is crazy. I’m in a loss for words. Billie Jean is a genius, always coming up with something grand, something that will catch the public fancy. That’s the way she is. She’s something. I love her.

I honestly can’t wait until the World Team Tennis season begins in July, because I’d like to watch them smash the ball around. My only concern is whether or not any broken windows will occur. Maybe not. They should have aluminum stadium seats around this alternative court. But this is fascinating.

It is interesting to note that Billie Jean once played for the Freedoms. In fact, Sir Elton John wrote a song for his friend based on the team name, which made its way to number one on the pop charts in 1975.
